Residents of Bradenton can enjoy fishing, boat ramps, dog parks, and other outdoor recreational activities at any one of the 10 local parks, including the newest addition, Bradenton Riverwalk, so named because its 1.5 mile land stretches between the Green and DeSoto bridges along the banks of the Manatee River. The historical attractions include the Braden Castle Park Historic District, the Iron Block Building, the Old Manatee County Courthouse, and the Peninsular Telephone Company Building, just to name a few. Today, Bradenton is the largest city of the Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area and is home to over 50,000 residents.īradenton has a colorful and storied past, and many of the original historic sites still stand today.
